Most treatments are well tolerated. For your comfort, a local anesthetic cream is applied before the procedure when needed. Some products, such as those used for lip fillers, also contain an anesthetic to reduce discomfort. You may only feel mild tenderness during the procedure.
The effects of Botox usually start to appear within 3–5 days, with full results reached in about 2 weeks. Although it varies from person to person, the effect lasts an average of 4–6 months.
Hyaluronic acid-based lip fillers usually last 6–12 months. The duration may vary depending on the product used, your metabolism and lifestyle. If needed, hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved by the physician.
